Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on this part of the island of Montreal that is known as"the West Island. People who don't understand the name mistakenly believe that the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is actually it is the West Island includes everything westward of the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. But this is not true. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa, Ontario. The first goal she had was to become an expert dancer. Then, a growth spurt caused her to outgrow all of the dance partners she had. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. When I reached the height of my male counterparts and stopped dancing, I quit. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In Brugel's case it was because of the advice of her drama teacher in high school who pushed her in the direction she required. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the school's annual production. She was given an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to attend York University's Theatre Program and graduated from the program in 2000, earning a degree of Bachelor's in Fine Arts. Through the years since, Brugel has landed roles on more than 60 productions across small and big screens drawing the most media attention after she was offered the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the character Rita in The Handmaid's Tale, a series that was filmed over ten years ago.
